Laser Lipo Ltd was incorporated in the U.K. in 2007, specifically to market and retail laser machines into the beauty, aesthetic and medical market place.
In the beginning of 2008, Laser Lipo launched the first Class 3B laser machine, for non invasive inch loss, into both the U.K. and in the Middle East region based out of the United Arab Emirates.
The first product marketed by the company was the Lapex BCS. It was very well received by the market and achieved tremendous media coverage in both regions. In the Autumn of 2008, the effects of the credit crunch took hold in Europe, making it clear that the company needed to introduce devices which matched the economic climate and also filled a number of the shortfalls of the BCS.
Firstly, a machine that could have an entry level price, that was significantly lower, therefore more affordable, as well as having the option to be able to both upgraded and have the ability to provide a range of treatments, rather than just inch-loss.
Laser Lipo spent over a year developing such a range of systems. The company also invested in securing the trademarks "Laser Lipo" and "Strawberry Laser" in the beauty and aesthetic industry in all of the Madrid convention countries. During this period, the management put inplace the first 'Shared Revenue System' into multiple clinics within the U.K. This provided a strong and profitable line for the business, whilst further expanding the use of low level laser systems for inch loss across the U.K.
In the Autumn of 2009, the new Strawberry systems were launched in the U.K. The new systems offered reduced treatment times (from 40 minutes down to just 10 minutes). The device could be purchased with 4, 6, 8 or 10 laser diode paddles, allowing people to purchase at an entry level price and as their clinic became busier, they could purchase additional paddles and reduce treatment times. The other development was that this unit had additional applications.
For the very first time Laser Lipo introduced an effective solution for stretch mark reduction. Although this was a time consuming treatment, the results were really good. Both old and new marks could be dramatically reduced in both texture and colour by up to 80%. In addition, the Strawberry was able to offer a non surgical solution for eye bags. Once again, this innovative development allowed clinics to offer a unique and safe treatment to the consumer. The results were fantastic but treatment times were too long on the eye bag reduction application to be viable.
Laser Lipo continued to market to U.K. and now began to establish a comprehensive international distribution network, following its exhibition in Bolonia, Italy. During 2010 and 2011, a strong network was established, as well as developing the U.K. market to include gyms and sport centers.
In early 2011, the directors of the company could see the potential threat, on a global basis, from low cost devices being manufactured and sold from the Far East. As a result Laser Lipo decided to establish its own manufacturing division. The objectives were to build an Inch Loss Only Strawberry with upgradeable paddles and to develop a state of the art Strawberry with an LED touch screen, improved applications and further invest in the development of new unique treatments. To achieve this the company received some financial support from the British government.
In December 2011, both the two new Strawberry machines achieved Medical CE accreditation. In early 2012, Laser Lipo secured the status as a medical manufacturer with not only ISO 9001 but also medical ISO 13485.
Having secured CE and EMC certification for the Strawberry systems and both ISO production accreditation of electrical goods and then medical equipment, Laser Lipo made its application for the American Federal Drug Administration (FDA) clearance, enabling it to market and promote its systems throughout the USA.
The whole FDA process was lengthy, however it forced the company to carry out its first full clinical study with placebos. The results were expected to be similar to other studies achieved but were significantly better. This
categorically proved that the time and effort put into designing systems with a combination of safety and efficacy had proved worthwhile. The competition offered longer treatment times with devices that were less user friendly and less efficient.
Both of Laser Lipo's Strawberry systems offer the most effective Inch Loss, Class 3B laser system for non invasive treatments with an instant inch loss in the world. The tried and tested 40 diode solution for stretch mark reduction (up to 80%) available today but not in the USA until it has been approved by the FDA.
